1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the CutBloke iOS app, the CutBloke website and the services that support customer bookings and salon management (together, the “Services”). In this policy, “CutBloke”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the operator of the Services.

Salon professionals may provide personal information about team members when managing a salon. The salon professional is responsible for having authority to provide that information to CutBloke.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use CutBloke, we collect:

  • Account information: first and last name, email address, phone number, date of birth, account identifier, role and authentication information.
  • Salon information: salon name, business contact details, physical address, map coordinates, operating status, opening hours, booking settings and salon images.
  • Team and service information: team member details, assigned roles, service names, descriptions, categories, duration and price.
  • Booking information: selected salon, services, staff member, appointment time, appointment status, customer details, booking notes and price information.
  • Content you provide: salon photographs, profile or business information and communications you send to us.
  • Technical information: information reasonably required to deliver and secure the Services, such as IP address, request timestamps, browser or device type, and authentication or error logs.

The current app does not collect payment card or bank account details, health data, phone contacts, audio recordings, or data for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

3. How we collect information

We collect personal information:

  • directly from you when you register, update your profile, create or manage a salon, upload an image, contact support, or make, change or cancel a booking;
  • from salon professionals when they add or manage team members, customers, services and appointments;
  • automatically when our systems receive requests needed to operate, protect and troubleshoot the Services; and
  • through service providers that support authentication, address search and maps, email delivery, hosting, data storage and image delivery.

When you choose a salon photograph, the app accesses only the image you select. Address searches may be processed by Apple Maps in the iOS app or Google Maps Platform on the website so that an address and its coordinates can be suggested.

4. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • create, authenticate and maintain accounts;
  • display salons, services, images and availability;
  • create, confirm, manage, cancel and reschedule bookings;
  • allow salon professionals to manage locations, services, staff, schedules and appointments;
  • send service, verification and security communications;
  • respond to support, privacy and account requests;
  • prevent misuse and maintain the security, reliability and performance of the Services; and
  • comply with applicable laws and enforce our agreements.

We do not sell personal information and do not use personal information for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

5. When we share information

We share information only where reasonably necessary:

  • With salons and their staff: booking and customer contact information is available to the selected salon so it can provide and manage the booked service.
  • With service providers: providers may process information for hosting, secure data storage, image delivery, authentication, maps and address search, email delivery, or technical operations.
  • For legal and safety reasons: we may disclose information where required by law or where reasonably necessary to protect users, CutBloke or others.
  • Business changes: information may be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of all or part of the business, subject to appropriate protections.

We require service providers that process personal information for us to protect it consistently with this policy and applicable privacy requirements, and to use it only for the services they provide to us.

6. Public salon content

Salon names, business contact details, addresses, services, opening information and salon images may be visible publicly so customers can discover and assess salons. Do not upload personal or confidential information to a public salon profile unless you are authorised and intend for it to be public.

Customer profiles, booking notes, dates of birth and account credentials are not intended to be displayed publicly.

7. Overseas processing

Some technology providers used for hosting, maps, address search, authentication, email and infrastructure operate in Australia, the United States and other countries. As a result, personal information may be processed or stored outside Australia. Privacy and data-protection laws in those locations may differ from Australian law.

We take reasonable steps to use providers that apply appropriate contractual, organisational and technical protections to personal information. You may contact us for more information about overseas processing relevant to your account.

8. Storage and security

Information is stored in systems used to provide the Services, including our application database and image storage. We use reasonable administrative, technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure.

No internet transmission or storage method is completely secure. Keep your password confidential, use a unique password and contact us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

9. Retention and deletion

We retain personal information while an account is active and for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain business and security records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements and comply with legal, tax or regulatory obligations.

Following a verified deletion request, we delete or de-identify personal information that is no longer required. Some information may remain temporarily in backups or be retained where required by law, for fraud prevention, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
